Alone.

Hey…?
Can my soul
talk to your soul
for a little while…
like they used to?
It’s not that
I’m falling for you
again –
But I miss having
someone who understands me
who wouldn’t mind a
phone call at 1:00AM
when I just need
to hear a friendly voice
that wants to hear me too.
I put on wonder and hathaway
and coltrane
in the hopes
that if I stare hard
enough at the phone
that you’ll feel me
calling for you…
but you aren’t tuned into
me
anymore
and I’ll be alone
again
tonight.
