Immortalization

When is forever
Seems rather short to me
When you say,

“I’ll love you forever”

forever, seems to be
Months, weeks, days.
A number amount of time

Or it is a pulsing happening
That resurfaces every now and then
Throughout time
To me – forever
Is an unending
Undying feeling
That lasts past
Bodily existence into
The after life
And further
So if I ever say
“I’ll love you ‘forever’”
I have immortalized you
In my spirit
And there you image will remain
A part of my soul
Forever
